  • 1 John 1:5-7
  • 1 John 2:7-11
  • 2 Cor. 11:5-15

Theme song: Shine, Jesus, Shine

Lord the light of Your love is shining
In the midst of the darkness, shining
Jesus, Light of the world, shine upon us
Set us free by the truth You now bring us
Shine on me
Shine on me

Shine, Jesus, shine
Fill this land with the Father's glory
Blaze, Spirit, blaze, Set our hearts on fire
Flow, river, flow
Flood the nations with grace and mercy
Send forth Your Word, Lord And let there be light

Lord, I come into Your awesome presence
From the shadows into Your radiance
By the blood I may enter Your brightness
Search me, try me, consume all my darkness
Shine on me
Shine on me

Shine, Jesus, shine
Fill this land with the Father's glory
Blaze, Spirit, blaze, Set our hearts on fire
Flow, river, flow
Flood the nations with grace and mercy
Send forth Your Word, Lord And let there be light
Shine, Jesus, shine
Fill this land with the Father's glory
Blaze, Spirit, blaze, Set our hearts on fire
Flow, river, flow
Flood the nations with grace and mercy
Send forth Your Word, Lord And let there be light

My dear brothers and sisters,

May God bless us and give us grace as we continue this chain prayers.

Today I got a new revelation about light. That God gives us discernment as to who and what is Light and light.

The Bible clearly states that God is light and in Him is no darkness. 2 Corinthians 4:6 states that 'it is God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ'. One could then say it is easy to know light from darkness. Then you read 2 Corinthians 11:12-15 'For such are false prophets, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Jesus Christ. And no wonder! For satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore, it  is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according their works.

As we stand fast to Jesus the light of the world, we need to be weary and watchful of agents of darkness pretending to be in the Light. Let us pray against this deception of the devil that has led many astray.  Just think of the following:

A Pastor in an adulterous relationship with a member of his church and thinks it's OK
An unmarried Christian woman saying her biological clock is ticking and goes off and gets a baby
Society saying homosexuality is OK because that's how the people were created
Terrorists killing people in the name of religion
A Christian saying they will never forgive or talk to someone who offended them.
We can continue in sin because God is a merciful God , full of grace....He understands.
Some churches don't  preach sanctification, it's all about prosperity.
As long as you give money to the church, a blind eye is turned to your lifestyle.
You can go to a witchdoctor as long as it is for your own 'good or protection' and you are not harming anyone.

These are some of the lies of the devil that people have believed. That is how darkness has infiltrated the world. We need to stamp out the darkness and let His light shine.

May our Lights shine out the darkness. May we live out the light. Remember that God created Light in Gen. 1:3 and is the Father of Light in James 1:1, He sent His Son to be the light of the world - John 8 :12. He did not shine His light in our hearts just for our sake, or that we hide the light under the bushel but that we might shine it and reflect it and by His power dispel it.. Arise, brothers and sisters, live! Pray! Arise, shine for the light has come and the glory of the Lord is risen upon us. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth and deep darkness, the people; but the Lord will arise over you and His glory will be seen upon you. The Gentiles shall come to your light and kings to the brightness of your rising'. - Isaiah 60:1-3. Amen, Lord Jesus.....Let it be so.

Walking in His light....

Good morning brothers and sisters,

What a thrill to start this prayer chain!.
As I did my first slot this morning the Lord led me to pray out darkness in my immediate area. Darkness in our lives,  family, work, areas around us. I prayed that He directs my prayer, exposes and eradicates all darkness. He led me to specific areas to pray. It was like He was shining His touch in the dark areas and showing me how to pray.

As we pray guided by the message from Sister Gilpin,  the Lord also wants us not only to look not only outside but also within. Unforgiveness, malice, gossip, immorality, pride.. Eph. 4:31, Col. 3:8, Gal. 5:18-21 all belong to the darkness. Some of us are struggling with family members involved in homosexuality and drug addictions, immorality, character flaws and other vices. The Lord is calling us to wake up and pray! His Light will dispel all darkness. Shine God's light in those dark areas to dispel the darkness. Put John 1: 5 to the test and share testimonies.

Our God is able. Also read 2 Cor 4:6, Acts 26:18, Romans 13:12-14.

Regarding areas we have dark spots, may this be an opportunity for us to be set free. Thank you, Jesus for this opportunity.

Walking in the light, by His grace for His glory,
Marionne

Dear brothers and sisters, Chain prayers - October 7th to 9th. Topic is ‘Praying out the darkness. Lord, may your light in me dispel the darkness….’ In the last couple of months, our topics have been, ‘waiting on the Lord’, ‘Standing in the gap’, ‘Roll the stone away’, and seek ye first….’, among others. Our verses are Phil 2:15-16 - Do all things without grumbling or disputing; 15 that you may prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world, 16 holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may have cause to glory because I did not run in vain nor toil in vain. God has called us to be lights in this darkness - Matthew 5:14. John 1:5-6 tells us that ‘In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness and the light dispelled the darkness. God has given us the spiritual authority to bind the crooked and perverse spirits in our generation. Our lifestyle, behaviour and attitudes should positively affect the society we live in and it should be in contrast with the world. Our lives should glorify God. Paul says in 1 Corinthians 10:31 that whether we eat or drink, or whatever we do we should do to the glory of Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:20 refers to us as ‘Ambassadors of Christ’ and Acts 1:8 refers to us as ‘Witnesses of Christ’. We also need to practically demonstrate that we are children of God by our lifestyle. May it not be said of us as we go into this time of warfare against the forces of darkness ‘Paul I know, Jesus I know but who are you…’ (Acts 19:15). Brothers and sisters, Prepare yourselves…..Position yourselves to plunder hell and pray against the evil spirits that have possessed God’s creation. As we prepare and position ourselves, we should examine ourselves and not continue in habits we know that are wrong before the Lord. By His grace, may we "… be dead to sin, (immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed), but alive to God" (Rom. 6:11; Col. 3:5). May we replace the bad habits with new ones that glorify God, and in that way bring glory to God by a change in our lifestyle, new boldness in proclaiming our faith in Jesus and interceding with expectation. The habits and lifestyles we are going to pray against include the following: The spirit of homosexuality • 1 Cor. 6:9 – “Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men” • Leviticus 20:13 - “‘If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable.” The spirit of (sexual immorality)Adultery, incest and fornication • Matthew 5:27-28 - “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’[a] 28 But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” • 1 Cor. 5:1 – “It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that even pagans do not tolerate: A man is sleeping with his father’s wife.” • 1 Cor 6:9-10 – “Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men[a nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.” • Col. 3:5 – “Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.” • 1 Thes 4:3-4 - It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; 4 that each of you should learn to control your own body[a] in a way that is holy and honorable, SOLUTION – Gal. 5:16 – “So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.” Compromise • Rev. 3:15-16 – “ I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. 16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot,[a] I will vomit you out of My mouth. • Rom. 6:1-2 – “What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2 By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?” • 2 Timothy 2:4 – “No soldier gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to please the one who enlisted him.” • James 1:21-22 - But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing... Conduct or habits not approved by Jesus • Ephesians 4:31 – “Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.” • Ephesians 5:3-5 – “But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people. 4 Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving. 5 For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a person is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.[“a • Colossians 3:8-10 – “But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. 9 Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices 10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.” • Proverbs 2:13-15 - “Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men, from men whose words are perverse, who have left the straight paths to walk in dark ways, who delight in doing wrong and rejoice in the perverseness of evil, whose paths are crooked and who are devious in their ways. Brothers and sisters, may we rise up and pray. Acts 18:9-10 encourages us to ‘Pray (Speak) and be not silent. For God is with us, and no one shall hurt us….’ We are called to take on this task as sinners, saved by grace. Not as Pharisees. We agree that ‘but for the grace of God, there go I.’ The crooked and perverse society we find ourselves has become acceptable in most quarters. God’s standards are being replaced with man’s standards. Christian consciences have become diluted. Pray against the spirit of homosexuality. God loves the sinner and hates the sin. Pray against churches that compromise in this regard. May we pray homosexuals to give up this abomination, by His grace, and live their lives for His glory. Let us pray against abortion. Let us pray against a form of godliness while denying the power. May we, as1 Peter 2:9 puts it, live "that we may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called us out of darkness into His marvelous light." We bear witness of the light to those who are still in darkness. That means that though we are no longer of the world (John 17:6), we still must live in a world that is often crooked and perverse. My prayer is that the darker the darkness, the brighter our lights shine. May our lives speak. May our lives attract….May our lives take people from darkness to His marvellous light. Into such a perverse and crooked society boldly walks the Christian, with power and authority, demonstrating that he/she is indeed a child of God by a behaviour that is blameless and above reproach. In doing so, we not only prove that we belong to Jesus as His child, but we also impact those around us as agents of change, lights of hope and examples holiness in a dark, depraved and sinful world. 1 John 5:14-15 reads that’ this is the confidence that we have that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us….’ In His service, for His glory, Sister Onike Gilpin

My brothers and sisters, the Good News Prayer Group and other intercessors around the world are currently going through an exercise of 24hour global chain prayer. the theme for this prayer chain is 'A closer walk with Jesus.' I don't know about you but I am excited.....very excited because I have purposed, by His grace, not to be the same when we complete this exercise. I have been reflecting on the topic and thought I should share them with you. 2 Corinthians 3:18 states that we will go from glory to glory. My prayer is that every one of us is closer to Jesus than when we started. How can we get closer to Jesus? Think about the following: NOT JUST PRAYING BUT ACTING OR LIVING OUT WHAT WE PRAY My prayer for us is that we live out our prayers. Sometimes, we spend so much time praying but our actions don't speak Christ. Can people say of us that' who we are speaks so loudly of us that they cannot hear what we say?' Can people trust our prayers because our lives are a testimony of lives transformed by Christ? Is Jesus in the inside, working on the outside? Does our Character, our speech, our action make Christ proud? It is good to remember that prayer is not only about talking to God but listening to Him. Jesus says in John 10:11-16 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. ... 14 I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own. 15 As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep. 16 And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd. May we also take time to know His voice, listen to His voice and obey His voice. This can only be done by spending time with Jesus .....abiding in Him and He in us...
